Happy Tuesday! Hopefully everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend. I tried a skirt steak recipe that I had seen on TikTok and it turned out amazing. The weather was perfect after a rainy weekend! Got some good events this week to lead us into June.

New IC Light - It’s Berry Good
Sorry for the pun but I saw an opportunity and had to take it. This past week, Pittsburgh Brewing announced its new flavor of IC Light - Berry. They’ve done limited drops of it in the past but it hasn’t been widely available and only for a short amount of time. Well, big news, Berry is now a year-round flavor.
As someone who loves IC Light Mango, I had to give it a try. I got mine at Banksville Beer in Dormont. I’ve heard they’re keeping things pretty well stocked throughout the city so you should be able to find it.
If you’ve never had it before during the limited releases, it’s relatively light on the beer. It’s more of an aftertaste, but the berry flavor is very forward. It reminds me a little bit of a shandy because of how malty IC Light is. I think you get more of the beer flavor in the mango flavor than in the berry.
If you’re a beer fan because you like the taste of hops and barley, this isn’t going to do it for you. But if you like novelty and a crushable summer drink, this is a 10/10 in that category.
What do you think of the Berry flavor?

Best Fried Chicken?
A couple weeks ago, The Brinery posted a review they got on their Instagram. I saved it because I think they have some of the best food in the city. They deserve all of their flowers!

If you have not yet been the The Brinery, you absolutely should go asap. Their food is homemade with love and you can tell. My favorite thing in this world are restaurants who care about the food they make and then get properly rewarded for it. Here are a few other fantastic reviews I pulled in case you needed more coaxing.
A MUST VISIT FOR BURGER LOVERS AND FOODIES IN PITTSBURGH AND SURROUNDING AREAS.My girlfriend and I came here twice in two days. Everything has been amazing. I have never had a better burger. We live out of state and will be back for another!
I cannot recommend this place enough. We’re here for the weekend from Ohio and I kid you not, we had it yesterday, today, and plan to go back tomorrow. We have even discussed logistics of transporting a few back home lol. We got the smash burgers and fries and they are unreal. Joe has been so friendly both times we have came. Definitely a family atmosphere. We will definitely be back next time we visit PA!
If you haven’t yet experienced The Brinery, you’re missing out on a true gem! I recently had the pleasure of trying their biscuits and gravy, and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had in my life. The biscuits were perfectly soft and flaky, with just the right amount of buttery richness. The gravy was a savory masterpiece—thick, creamy, and packed with incredible flavor. Every bite was pure comfort food heaven. The Brinery nails the balance of quality ingredients, impeccable preparation, and that homey, down-to-earth vibe that makes you feel like you’re eating at a friend’s house. If you’re a fan of delicious, soul-satisfying meals, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit—you won’t regret it!

Last Week’s Answer: Uniontown

On The Market
I’m a Zillow freak. If you were to track the apps on my phone, the top by usage would be Instagram, Zillow, Reddit. And judging from what yinz thought about the house hunch polls I did for a hot minute, it seems like Zillow might be a top app with this crew. Without further ado, I present to you “On The Market” where I’ll post the coolest listing I found during my Zillow doomscrolling. Could be architecture, could be a sunroom (I’m a sucker for those), or it could just be that I love the vibe.
This week’s find - 66 Dinsmore Ave
The wraparound porch is awesome, of course. But what got me is that this would probably be an $800k+ house most anywhere else. Here it’s $439.9k. The woodwork in the foyer is a beautiful touch as well. Love this one!

New Lion Cub at PGH Zoo
She’s yet to be named but she’s a freaking cutie already. Her parents are Scarlett and Hondo, 2 of the 3 lions that are on exhibit at the Pittsburgh Zoo. Hondo came over last May from the Idaho Falls Zoo to be a companion for the 2 lionesses. Well that companionship worked and now we get a cute lion cub for the first time in 6 years. You’ve got to see the pictures!
Kamin Science Center Transforming North Shore Riverfront
The Science Center is planning to change the look of the riverfront where the USS Requin currently floats. The plan would raise the submarine above the water to prevent further rust and corrosion. This has been advocated for by local veterans groups for a while now. The plan also includes a public marina, ecosystem restoration, fishing access, and a pedestrian trail. You can read more about the plan here.
Dr. Robby Gets a Bobblehead
For those The Pitt fans around here (me), the Buccos announced that they’re going to be doing a Dr. Robby bobblehead night on July 25th. The first 20,000 fans will get to add it to their bobblehead collection. And it comes on an important series vs the Cubs. A great weekend all around! You can get your tickets for the game here.

The Cat Report

Snuggles, Cuddles, and Reid from Nose 2 Tail Cat Rescue
Calling all cat lovers! Nose 2 Tail is really looking to find a great home for this trio. They’ve been at the shelter for over 800 days and would love a great home. The struggle is that they’re bonded and 11 years old. People love kittens and single cats. But these 3 are about as sweet, loving, and snuggly as they get. And they won’t get 1 am zoomies like kittens do. So if you or you know of someone who would love 3 senior cats who have many good years left ahead of them, please consider adopting. You can read more about them here.
