Happy Tuesday! I have an exciting new section for you this week where I gather up the latest new menu items from around the city. I can’t wait to see what you think! Before we get into it, you have to see this drone shot from Brandon Heitzenrater, aka @bh_photography_pa on Instagram. It might be the coolest shot of the city I’ve ever seen.

Summer is heating up, which means 2 things: road trips and boating. It’s all about quality time with your friends and family and the last thing you want is to waste time at a gas station.

The good news is TANK Mobile Fueling solves that. They’ll come to you to fill up your boat, car, or RV. By the time you’re ready to hit the road, lake, or river, your vehicle is ready to go.

If you want more quality time with your friends and family this summer, DM them on Facebook or send Matthew a text at (412) 996-7368 to get on the schedule.

Pim’s Reading

Everyone may remember the Girl Scout, Pim Neill, who set a crazy record of selling almost 125,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. But that was just her latest record. The one that she’s been chasing since birth is the number of books she can read.

When she was 4, she read 467 books during the CLP summer reading program. Last year at age 5, she did 506. So far this year, she’s already at 108 books. The reading numbers are impressive, but her main goal is to get other kids passionate about reading.

There’s a saying on social media, “you can just do things”. I think Pim is a personification of that message. This past weekend she was with Neighbors on the Mount planting flowers. She plans to help them out with their future trash pickup days. She’s collecting toys for a donation drive in December. Because of her impact from the Girl Scout Cookies, she’s been dedicated February 20th in Pittsburgh as Pim Neill Day. This next year she plans to dedicate that to Jeremiah’s Place, a local nonprofit that provides emergency childcare for families in need.

I think the world would be a better place if we could all be a little more like Pim. If you want to donate any toys, you can send her dad, Luke, a message on Facebook.

Pittsburgh Introductions - Amanda Webb

This is another new section that I’m excited to be rolling out where we get to meet locals who are doing cool and impactful things in the city. From opening a new business, running a charity, being a force for change, etc. If you know of anyone who you think should be included, send me an email!

This week’s local is Amanda Webb of Squirrel Hill. She runs Love’s Palette, where she does live wedding and event painting. It’s such a unique way to capture a special moment that goes above and beyond what a normal photographer can. Read more about her here.

On The Market

Don’t judge a book by its cover. I almost scrolled past this one but at the price its listed at, I thought there must be something hidden. The views of the city are stunning. It would be amazing to look out off the deck any season of the year. See for yourself.

Pim’s Dad Needs a Lung Transplant

I mentioned Pim above with her reading goals, but it turns out her dad is in dire need of a lung transplant. He’s undergone all of the steps required to be approved and ready. Now it’s just about having everything in order to be able to cover the expenses that will pile up when they get the call for the transplant. They’re hoping to raise $10,000 to cover those expenses. You can help them by donating here.

Heather Grant’s Community Pantry

I learned this last week about a local, Heather Grant, who has set up a community pantry on her front porch. She has food, clothes, and shoes for those in need. She’s at 152 Ormsby Ave in Mount Oliver and is always accepting donations. Her motto is #kindnessspreads.
